Exhibition Report - March 2004

Evening By The Loch by Jeanne KellerArt Festival Exhibition - 5 to 9 March 2004 - Guildhall.

130 paintings by 50 artists were on display; the deputy mayor, Cllr. Keith Hasnip opened the exhibition. We thank the Vale of White Horse council for the use of this facility.

Poppy Self Sown by Pauline Gammon ©2004There were about 550 visitors. Jeanne Keller's "Evening by the Loch" was voted best in show, with joint second held by Pauline Gammon's "Poppies, self sown" and Allen Shufflebotham's "Rainy day - The High".

Allen's previous winner "Delivery in Turl Street" was displayed and raffled as a prize. This display - and - raffle was a successful new feature for our exhibition.

Rainy Day The High by Allen Shufflebotham ©2004We had painted our display screens - at last - which made everything lighter. This together with the number and quality of paintings and the interest in the raffle led a number of people to comment that this was one of our best exhibitions in a long time.
